This doen’t help you if you’re buying a house today, but if you’re one of the few people who had a contract by the end of April and still haven’t closed, you’re in luck!
Congress just passed an extension to the closing deadline for the Homebuyer Tax Credit. The extention gives home buyers until September 30, 2010 to close on their purchases. Even if it takes a few days for the President to sign the bill, there will be no gap between the old deadline of June 30.
They’re estimating that this will only raise the national deficit by $9 Million. Do the math…. that says there are 1,125 soon-to-be homeowners nationwide who will benefit from this extension. I wonder how many of those are in Yuma? All of Territorial Mortgage’s June purchases were closed ON TIME before the original deadline.
